Associations of women (Spain)

Given the circumstances of the serious problem of gender-based violence and the high number of victims who die each year are many women's organizations that exist in order to assist this group.

 

Public entities, NGOs and other associations are trying to advise these women by providing the necessary support to cope with their situation and get it.

 

Functions partnerships

 

Among the major functions performed by associations that deal with victims of gender-based violence are as follows:

 

·  Inform victims of the solutions for which they may qualify.

 

·  Provide advice on legal and administrative procedures to be carried out for example to seek an order of protection.

 

·  Providing financial support.

 

·  To collaborate with them in finding employment or in the processing of unemployment benefit.

 

·  Training programs to help them enter the workforce.

 

·  Psychological Help.

 

·  Emotional support to help overcome the situation.

 

·  ·Provide counseling and education to the children of victims.

 

·  Housing if necessary these women in shelters.

 

Types of partnerships

 

There are associations that offer general support to women in a comprehensive manner that is both can work with them in finding a job as legal advice.

 

Other specific associations working in specific fields such as for example the attention of women who have undergone abortions because of the macho violence.

 

There are also associations working with government agencies to build shelters where they can stay these women and their children while they solve their economic situation or to be more protected.

 

Social Services

 

Schools of Social Services are public institutions in each municipality, dependent ultimately on the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

 

These services are provided full social assistance to all women performing tasks such as:

 

·  Processing of economic benefits.

 

·  Accommodation in a shelter.

 

·  Media education for their children.

 

·  Processing of the protection order if necessary.
