The Ministry of Health will launch another year an information campaign on the proper use of antibiotics in order to avoid self-medication and the risks involved.

The Campaign for Health is aiming to raise awareness that antibiotics are not effective against emerging viral diseases, but they are valid only against bacterial diseases. Moreover, it is recalled that the majority of flu and colds are viral it is not possible to cure with antibiotics.

Although antibiotics be sold on prescription, there are many who are purchased without a doctor's prescription. Self-medication is becoming a problem because due to the misuse of antibiotics creates bacteria resistant to these medicines.
