Campaign to recover the Iberian lynx

The Ministry of Environment and environmental leaders of the autonomous regions of Andalusia, Extremadura and Castilla La Mancha have signed an agreement to try to recover the population of lynx in Spain.

 

The Spanish government and the European Union, through the LIFE project, which will be financially supported this project with 7 and 26 million euros respectively.

 

These cats will be bred in captivity in Andalusia. For the year 2010 is expected to reach the figure of 60 copies and will be released in Spanish and Portuguese land.

 

Another of the actions to be carried out so that the Iberian lynx is not disappear conservation rabbit, the main source of food for this feline, copies of which are being reduced due to the practice of hunting.
