Cellphone - Introduction

Mobile telephony is a telecommunications service based on electromagnetic waves. Allows receive and make calls through a network of antennas located at strategic points.

Origins

Its origin took place during World War II when he first appeared radios. These were used by American troops to communicate with each other.

EIn 1973, Martin Cooper created the first mobile phone history. This revolutionized the world and now, these devices are already part of everyday life.

Mobile phones are no longer those appliances large (33 x 9 x 4.5 cm) that came despite nearly a kilo and had a range of one hour. The time has been significantly reduced these features up to phones presently available.

First Generación-1G

In Spain was known as TACCS (Total Access Communications System) and consisted of analog networks.

This system was capable of transmitting voice, but not data. The devices of this first generation were heavy and large.

Second Generación-2G

Appears in Europe in the early'90s and the protocol uses GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication), which is the name of the global system for mobile communication.

This generation also allows for the transmission of voice, data at low speed, 9.5 Kbps or so. One of his innovations was the use of SMS, which allows you to communicate via short text messages.

The mobile 2G could connect to the internet with limitations on the transfer of data such as: establishing connection low, low bandwidth or high cost, as it was billed by the time it was connected.

Second Generation and a half

There are around 2000. One of its technology is GPRS (Global Packet Radio System) that provides improvements in Internet connection regard to GSM as: increased speed transmission with 170 Kbps approximately permanent connection fee and traffic.

ntAmong its innovations is the advent of MMS and EMS. The former are messaging services that allow the sending of icons and tunes. Second, in addition to that, they are able to incorporate a message songs, pictures and videos.

Another of the new features of these phones was the emergence of bluetooth. This is a wireless technology that allows the connection between different computers or phones via radio. It has a maximum range of 10 meters.

Third Generación-3G

He made his appearance in 2001 and is based on the UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) is a technology that allows dial-up internet, data transfer and reading e-mail, for example.

The great novelty of this generation is the emergence of a second chamber, which can make videocalls. In addition, its data rate is very rapid, reaching the 2 Mbps.

Fourth Generación-4G

This is a new generation that has not yet appeared on the market. It's based on protocol TC/IP is a language that enables communication between two or more devices via the Internet.

. The 4G is defined as a set of technologies and protocols, resulting in a single integrated device is the most possibilities of communication.

With this new technology are trying to get the mobile will be able to use the system to provide better service for the transmission of messages, video or watching television, for example.
