Controversy in the new judicial year

In September, has begun the new judicial year in Spain with the controversy over the blockade for the renewal of the Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ).

 

The blockage is caused by the confrontation between the two main political parties in Spain. Currently, the first opposition party holds a majority that does not want to lose, which did not adopt the new proposal submitted by members.

 

The judges belong to several associations have called on political parties that the election of the members of the CGPJ is done with professional criteria and not political criteria.
