Major hormones

 

Cortisol

 

It is produced in the cortex of the adrenal gland. It belongs to the group of glucocorticoid hormones which helps regulate levels of blood sugar.

 

It also helps speed up the transport of amino acids. It seems that the production of this hormone increases with the situations that produce stress on the individual.
