Early retirement (Spain)

It's called early retirement to that retirement can be obtained before the age of 65, which is the stated age. It is envisaged only in certain circumstances and those who wish to apply must comply with mandatory requirements.

 

The system of the Spanish social security is organized into various schemes grouping workers according to their characteristics. The hosting more workers is the general scheme, but there are others such as the Special autonomous.

 

In the general scheme covers employees in most sectors except, for example, miners. The general scheme provides several possibilities for retirement before age 65.

 

Early retirement in the general scheme

 

Workers may opt voluntarily retire at 61 years if they meet the following requirements:

 

·  Having completed 61 years.

 

·  To have contributed to Social Security for at least 30 years.

 

·  Be registered in the INEM offices during the 6 months preceding the application for retirement pension.

 

·  Demonstrate that the end of the last contract will not be produced by the worker.

 

Prejubilación in some professions

 

The possibility of early retirement is extended in the high-risk or professions in which workers are subjected on a regular basis to substances that may be toxic.

 

In these cases, the age at which the worker can accommodate retirement is calculated by applying a reduction coefficient, which is set according to category and the trade played in the company. The professions affected by this provision are:

 

·  Workers covered by the Statute Mining.

 

·  Rail Workers.

 

·  Artists.

 

·  Staff flying aerial work.

 

·  Taurines professions. .

 

Exceptional circumstances

 

In addition to the overall circumstances raised contemplated within the law most exceptional circumstances other workers eligible for early retirement:

 

·  Workers who have a disability equal to or higher than 65%.

 

·  Workers who have more than 60 years with any of the following conditions:

 

- Have the mutual status since before 1967.

 

- Work RENFE since before April 14, 1967 or FEVE since before December 19, 1969.

 

- Being included in the Special Regime for mariners before August 1, 1970

 

- Membership of the Special Regime coal miners since before April 1, 1969 or before December 31 of that same year if it is mutual status.

 

Worth noting

 

The reduction coefficient is a set amount that is applied to the actual number of years worked to reduce them. Thus, by applying these coefficients can be a miner who retired at age 50, if that date is applying the reduction coefficients year quoted necessary.

 

Remarks

 

The ability to retire at 61 years affecting the majority of workers, except those belonging to certain special schemes. They can only benefit from it in exceptional circumstances:

 

·  Special Regime agriculture.

 

·  Special Scheme for Self

 

·  Special scheme for employees home.
