Environment - Introduction

It is believed that the environment is everything that surrounds the living. Thus included in this concept all the natural and social elements that make up an ecosystem.

The environment is constantly changing either by its very nature or because humans or any other living thing in it interferes transforming gradually.

Greenhouse Effect

The Earth is enveloped by a layer of gases called Atmosphere, whose function is to filter out harmful rays of sunlight to life on earth and cause the greenhouse effect, ie the heat that reaches the Earth instead of running off and being retained in her.

The greenhouse effect is initially positive, but man has introduced changes in the composition of the atmosphere that have enhanced its ability to retain heat, leading to a rise in temperatures.

Biodiversity

This concept refers to the variety of species that make up each ecosystem. The existence of all of them has a meaning and a source within the food chain. All contribute to sustaining its ecosystem.

Currently endangered biodiversity in some areas because of the actions of man. While it is true that all the elements of an ecosystem contribute to change it, the man has caused too many alterations.

The man has transformed both the environment and living conditions in some ecosystems that has hindered the survival of some species, leading to the abyss of endangered.

Operating environment

The threat suffers biodiversity and the threat of climate change is due largely to the irresponsible use that man has made of natural resources (water, minerals, etc.). That nature has made available to them.

Utilization has been massive and abusive, and has not thought about the consequences. Among other things, they have cleared forests have been depleted marine species and has been wasted water.

World Environment Day

It was established by the United Nations, which use this event to educate people about the need to care for the Environment.

It tries to show the evil use of the planet and its resources that it offers. The aim is to raise awareness that without caring Environment, could result in climate change with incalculable consequences.

Worth noting

More than 70% of the earth's surface is covered by water, allowing the existence of millions of aquatic ecosystems and the presence of the detained persons and other land animals emerged, not covered by water.

Some of the factors that determine the life of man on earth and that must be taken into account are: climate, topography, flora, fauna and nature resources.
