Health tourism

This tourism is oriented mainly to people seeking relaxation. It focuses on the treatment of health and welfare, such as thalassotherapy, or chocolaterapia stress treatments.

 

The average time a tourist can spend in a destination of this type varies depending on the treatment you have to do. Usually, between a weekend and 15 days.

 

Centers

 

The centers where they can make treatments and wellness are two:

 

·  The SPA: offer treatments using drinking water, to which they add chemicals to increase the impact and aesthetic relaxants.

 

·  The Spas: facilities that are usually built near the springs with mineral waters, which are based treatments. These centers tend to be coordinated by health professionals.

 

Treatments

 

Some of the treatments that are carried out in health tourism are as follows:

 

·  Talasoterapia: therapeutic method based on the toilets with seawater and other factors such as algae, plankton and mud. It collects water on the seabed, is cleaned and heated to body temperature.

 

·  Chocolaterapia: massages and baths are in chocolate to moisturize the skin and eliminate cellulite. It is also a good stress treatment.

 

·  Thermotherapy: based on the heat treatment to relieve pain, reduce blood pressure and improve circulationThe heat can be applied in various ways, such as water baths or mud, air or electricity.

 

·  Slimming: natural therapy that consists of putting pressure on any part of the body to correct disorders of the circulatory system.

 

·  Foot Massage: is to receive massages in the soles of the feet to relieve pain or prevent disease. This is possible thanks to each part of the body is reflected in an area of the foot.

 

Destinations

 

Those who prefer a health tourism usually go to two places:

 

·  Spa: are linked to those areas where there are streams, rivers or lakes because its waters are the most suitable for these treatments.

 

Here highlighted above the springs in Vichy Catalan Girona, and La Toja Mondariz in Pontevedra, Solán Cabras in Basin and the river Alhama in Grenada.

 

Outside of Spain also exist with water springs spas like Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic or Cabobré in Panama.

 

·  Another chance to health tourism are natural areas with recognized therapeutic properties. The Mar Menor (Murcia) is known for the properties of its mud.

 

A great example outside Spain is the Dead Sea between Israel, the West Bank and Jordan. It is considered therapeutic for its high content of mineral salts.

 

Remarks

 

The sauna is a room with a warm produced by the hot air. They reach 100 º C or so. There are two types of sauna: wet and dry. Among the benefits that produces stress relieving pains column, increased traffic or eliminating stress.
