Hotels - Introduction

The origin of the hotels are in ancient Rome, where roads exist in taverns and inns for the night. These accommodations were consolidated in the sixteenth century.

 

During the eighteenth century accommodations were built near the coast and in the nineteenth hotels were moving toward the interior of the cities. Subsequently, in the twentieth century came new demands of establishments giving rise, for example, to the resorts.

 

Classification of hotels

 

The hotels are classified according to quality and the services they offer. Some of the badges that are in accommodations for its category are:

 

·  Ratings: can be from one to five.

 

·  Lyrics: are ranked from A to E.

 

·  Classes: distinguishing 1st to 4th.

 

·  Diamond and the World Tourism.

 

This classification is based on certain criteria that measure the level of quality and services, such as the size of this room, if they have access to Internet, telephone and swimming.

 

For some time it is conducting a standardization of distinctive quality. Thus, in the vast majority of countries already are the traditional stars.

 

La The valuation of the services is not equal in all countries, the most advanced quality is higher. Nor is the same in different regions of Spain, since each one has its own legislation. Nevertheless, the differences between Autonomies are minimal.

 

Types of hotels

 

The traditional hotels can be classified according to location and the services they offer. Some of them are:

 

·  Country hotel: has the same performance as a hotel, but with the peculiarity that is located in their natural habitat.

 

·  Hotel city are located in big cities. They often placed in historical centers or business areas.

 

·  Apartment hotel: is characterized by having a kitchen inside the room. Also, be called houses that are rented on a hotelier. They can be found also in rural areas.

 

·  Hostel: Hotel located in a building of cultural interest such as a castle or a convent. They may receive the name of hoteles-monumento.

 

·  Resort: a residential complex comprising a hotel and various sports and leisure services, for instance.

 

·  Spa Hotel: facilities are built near springs. In addition to providing accommodation available treatments based on relaxing watermineromedicinales.

 

·  Hotel SPA offer, in addition to accommodation, treatments using drinking water, to which they add chemicals to increase the impact and aesthetic relaxants.

 

·  Hotel bungalow: consists of small one-story houses built in wood usually with kitchen and bathroom. This is a kind of aparta-hotel.

 

·  Inn: accommodations are very old and restored where the visitor has accommodation and catering.

 

·  Motels: establishments are located in areas close to roads. Guests rent a room with private entrance and parking. Placements in these lodgings are of short duration.

 

·  Rural inn: type of hotel where the traveler rented a bed in a bedroom and bathroom and kitchen shared with other users. Some establishments have private rooms.

 

Remarks

 

At present most hotels are part of a hotel chain. This is a group of hotels controlled by one company or group of them in order to achieve greater profitability and prestige.
