Lottery - Introduction (Spain)

This is a game of chance in which participants, using a small financial investment, seeking to get a benefit based on luck.

 

The first lottery arrived in Naples in the eighteenth century in the hands of Carlos III, which was a great connoisseur of this game. The participant chose a series of numbers and earned in proportion to what wagered.

 

Since the late nineteenth century Spain is among the largest consumers of this type of games. It is also one of the countries where the lottery is played in the company, ie groups or clubs.

 

Types lottery

 

Most of them depend on the National Lottery and Betting State which is under the Ministry of Finance. Some of them are:

 

·  National Lottery: this is the best known in Spain and distributed large sums of money. Their drawings are the most important Christmas which falls on December 22 and the draw of the child Jan. 5.

 

There are also draws on Thursdays and Saturdays. In terms of the prizes, all of which distributes 70% of the issuance of tickets.

 

·  Bonoloto involves hit 6 issues ranging from 1 to 49, another number and the additional drawback that goes from 0 to 9. It sortea on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

 

Bets can be made with a weekly ticket or one for each day. The 55% of the collection of bets goes to the prizes.

 

·  Primitive: is the same as the bonoloto, except that the drawings are held Thursdays and Saturdays. It is intended to award 55% of the proceeds.

 

·  Fat of the primitive: consists of hit 5 numbers from 1 to 54 and another for the reinstatement ranging from 0 to 9 called number key. The draw takes place on Saturdays.

 

·  Euromillones: it is the most important draw for his great prizes collected throughout Europe. The participant must hit 5 numbers ranging from 1 to 50, plus another two from 1 to 9 who are called stars.

 

Charity Sweepstakes

 

There are other types of sweepstakes that certain associations conducted in order to meet expenses. These are charitable raffles. In Spain the best known are:

 

·  Organization of Blind Spaniards (ONCE): This is a coupon with a number that should match the drawn in the lottery and be in the same order. Drawings are conducted from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays there is a special appeal cuponazo and Sundays the supercupón weekend.

 

·  The Red Cross: is similar to the ONCE but is done once a year and the awards are quantities of gold or its cash value. Often performed in the month of July.

 

The Bingo

 

There is also another kind of lottery private well known throughout the world. This is Bingo and involves removing all 15 numbers from a carton. The balls are numbered from 1 to 90 and are extracted from a bass drum.

 

They can provide two types of awards. The line is achieved when the numbers have been extracted from a horizontal line of cardboard. Subsequently continues playing until they get bingo that is to complete the entire card

 

Remarks

 

These drawings, with the exception of bingo, must be made before a notary. The latter will be responsible for attesting to the lot and validate the number or numbers that have been recipients.

 

The money that the National Lottery and Betting state collects its sweepstakes and prizes not intended to become part of the coffers of the Treasury.
