Central nervous system

 

The central nervous system is comprised of the brain and spinal cord. Normally the brain is used as a generic term, but it is actually a part of the brain.

 

Both the brain and the spinal cord are protected by the bones of the spine and skull. The damage to the central nervous system can have serious consequences.
