Occupational disease - Introduction (Spain)

An occupational disease is one that occurs as a result of work performed. An accident at work is that which occurs at work or on the way from home to work and from this home.

 

The consideration of occupational disease in Spain also adheres to a list of those drafted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. The accident at work and occupational diseases are opposed to the common illness and accident not work.

 

The latter are those who do not occur as a result of work. In either case, the employee is entitled to an allowance to cover its economic needs.

 

The level of benefits, the time it may take casualties and the right to compensation differs depending on whether the disease or accident or are not working or not working.

 

List of diseases

Groups that appears classified diseases are:

·  Causing by carcinogens: those malignant diseases caused by contact with substances such as asbestos or benzene, and that can give rise to cancer cells affecting any organ of the body.
