Other festivals in the world

In every country is celebrated to commemorate certain events religious, political or cultural. Each is holding its history and the features that make it a center of attraction for tourists.

 

Brazil Carnival

 

·  Location: Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Salvador.

 

·  Date: begins 40 days before Easter.

 

·  Story: Like all carnivals, has its origins in the Catholic religion. Subsequently, the festival was paganizó. In Portugal, in the eighteenth century there was entrudo, feast that consisted of throwing water on each other. The party was banned by the bourgeoisie considered by violent.

Independence Day USA

·  Date: July 4.

 

·  History: This celebration commemorates the formal adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The party began to be celebrated as an official in 1941.

·  Date: October 31.

Thanksgiving Day

The wave of cold winter surprised them and, thanks to the help of the natives who provided them food, half managed to survive. The following year, the pilgrims decided to share with the natives its first harvest.

 

·  Celebration: Day of Thanksgiving is the biggest party in the United States. It does not have a religious character itself, but is grateful to God for the goods purchased.

 

It is celebrated with a family dinner. The menu is typical turkey stuffing corn, sage and bread, accompanied by red cranberry sauce, vegetables and mashed potato. The dessert is usually pumpkin or apple pie.

 

Chinese New Year

 

·  Location: China.

 

·  Date: do not have a fixed date, will be held at the second new moon after the Winter Solstice. In 2008 will be on February 7 and on January 26 2009.

 

·  History is one of the most significant holidays for the Chinese people throughout the world, regardless of the origin of their ancestors. Independence Day in México

·  Date: September 16.

 

·  History: This appears to be holding commemoration of the independence of Mexico in 1821. Remember the fight led by Miguel Hidalgo Cura and General Ignacio Allende for independence. These two figures are large banners of Mexican society.

 

·  Observances: in all Mexican cities this day is celebrated with parades and events popular in honor of the flag. In some places even represent the most prominent battles.

 

In the afternoon, in every city where there verbenas popular danced to the sound of mariachis and eat dishes such as pozole, enchiladas, tamales, atole or fritters.
