The European
Commission has ratified the fine it had imposed on the American company
Microsoft in 2004. The penalty amounted
to a figure of 497 million euros.
The fine was imposed because
the company of Bill Gates presented a monopoly of the PC market. Its
operating system is present in most computers in the world, driving out other
competitors from the market.
This fact can also pass
bills to other companies related to computers and the Internet as is the
case with Google and that Intel has a monopoly on the computer chips.
