Mobile carriers suffer an
investigation after the opening of a dossier sanctioning by the National
Commission on Competition. This test whether agreed to jointly raising
fares.
On March 1 Movistar, Orange
and Vodafone raised their fares in a similar way in order not to give up their
profits. This decision resulted from the requirement to bill their customers
for seconds. LThe companies deny that there was any prior agreement.
The Consumer Protection Act
prohibited the rounding and companies offset the loss with higher rates. The record
penalty opened after numerous allegations and claims of consumer
associations could now bring these companies to pay fines of up to 10% of their
annual income.
