Reduction in the number of births by caesarean

The Ministry of Health wants to carry out a strategy for improving attention to natural childbirth with the aim of reducing it by caesarean births produced.

 

Data provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) revealed that the number of births by caesarean section in Spain reaches a figure that far exceeds the 15% that is the figure recommended by this organization.

 

Some of the proposals could include this strategy is the reduction of childbirth inductions if no medical cause, refusing to give birth with her legs lifted and the reduction of epidural injection.

 

The colectivo de midwives agrees with this strategy because it will reduce the number of instruments in the intervention childbirth. They will only be used in cases where necessary.
