In general we can say that
religion is a belief system that relates the life of the man with the divinity.
Usually involves certain beliefs and the realization of a cult.
In most cases religious
beliefs relate to the concept of faith. It is believe things because
they do not have to be tested or be verifiable.
The need for religion
is considered by many scholars as innate in man. It is the means to respond to
the questions which explain why life. Religion is also bail for consolation to
the misunderstanding of the tragedy.
The gods are often related to
salvation and often involve the way to a better place that normally
identifies with a paradise. In that place is reached after the death, which
often also have explanation through religion.
Primitive Religions
The theories of the birth
of religions are endless. It is known that since primitive times you can
see the practice of ritual burials and the construction of other
buildings that would attract so goodness of the gods.
One way is primitive
religious animism. This belief is to consider the spirits inhabiting
earthly elements such as rocks, animal or human being. The theory of animism as
the source of religions was made by Tylor.
Polytheism
Most ancient religions and many
of these are polytheists, ie worship more than one god. Normally
divinity to each assigned different powers.
Among the better-known
ancient polytheistic religions are of the Egyptian or Greek.
Currently Hinduism in many of its branches is an example of polytheism.
Monotheism
Despite numerous
demonstrations polytheists, many of the great religions that persist to this
day are monotheists, ie believe in a single god. The most important order of
seniority are:
· Judaísmo.
· Cristianismo.

Islamismo
The history of these
religions has marked the evolution of man. Thus the spread of Christianity
in Europe was the subject of numerous battles on everything from the
division thereof into Catholics and Protestants.
