Rural tourism in Spain

Over Spain there are many places where you can spend your holidays approaching their nature and their customs.

 

Direct contact with nature and the return to areas less overcrowded make this type of tourism has increasingly fans throughout Spain.

 

Picos de Europa

 

The area is filled with small towns and villages increasingly conditioned to receive tourists who prefer the rural environment. Too often, the restoration of old houses to turn them into rural accommodation.

 

In this area include the Parque Natural de los Lagos de Covadonga, whose views surprise to anyone who decides to move. Their heights are the main Naranjo de Bulnes (Picu Urriellu) and Torrecerredo. Both areas are of great interest for lovers of the mountain.

This mountain is also attractive because of the variety of accommodations offered. Along with the usual hotels and farmhouses in this area are shelters like the Poqueira which is located 2,500 meters above sea level, the High Postero, 1,880 meters and Puerto de la Ragua, 2,000 meters.

 

The cuisine of the area noted for its goat cheeses, gazpacho warm season and Iberian sausages.

 

Regional Park in the Sierra de Gredos

 

This area has greatly increased in recent years because of its proximity to large urban areas like Madrid. The forests of pines and oaks are one of the great attractions of the Regional Park in the Sierra de Gredos.

 

Offers variety of routes to the peak Almanzor or Surety. They are very familiar excursions by valleys and lakes that can be observed in the footsteps glaciers.

 

The cuisine of this region is notable for its sausage and pork. The suckling pig is a very typical dish of the Sierra de Gredos.

 

Sierra de Guadarrama

 

This area is home valleys of great interest to tourists as rural Valley Fuenfría and Valsaín, La Pedriza, circus and gaps in Peñalara and Valley Lozoya. In addition, we found this saw places of historical significance as the Mount of the Almenara.

 

Its proximity to the Spanish capital makes the area has developed a lot in terms of accommodations and restaurants in town. The Sierra de Guadarrama has become the main escape route for those who live in Madrid.
