The Spanish Civil Service is
organized geographically into three distinct levels: State, autonomous regions
and municipalities. Each one performs various tasks in coordination with the
other.
With regard to the people, to
carry out the formalities can depend on any of the three levels. The paperwork
with the City are typically more frequent.
Administration
of the State
Have skills throughout the
national territory. From the Central government will undertake a series of
actions of a general nature affecting all citizens.
The powers of the central
government are divided into ministries headquartered in Madrid and with a
presence in all the autonomous communities through delegations that are called councils.
Ministries
Currently there are 16
ministries:
· Ministry of Public
Administration.
· Ministry of
Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
· Ministry of
Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
· Ministry of
Culture.
· Ministry of
Defense.
· Ministry of
Economy and Finance.
· Ministry of Education
and Science.
· Ministry of Public
Works.
· Ministry of
Industry, Tourism and Commerce.
· Ministry of the
Interior.
· Ministry of
Justice.
· Ministry of
Environment.
· Ministry of the
Presidency.
·
Ministerio de Sanidad y
Consumo.
· Ministry of Labor
and Social Affairs.
· Housing Ministry.
Autonomous
Administration
There are 17 autonomous
regions in Spain. Each one has ceded some powers from the central government. There
are procedures that are solely dependent on the Communities such as hunting
permits.
Each Community has its own
government. In some provincial divisions exist Communities. The provinces do
not have governing bodies themselves.
Local government
Each stock or set of stocks
are grouped in small towns, each with its City Hall. There are many
formalities to be carried out with the local government such as the census.
The governing bodies of municipalities
are formed by the mayor and council members, each of which corresponds to a
specific occupation.
