Traditional festivities - Introduction

The traditional festivals are those holidays that persist in a particular place with the passage of time, passing from generation to generation.

 

All the regions of Spain as well as most countries in the world have these feasts. The venues where they are held are engalanan and offer a wide range of activities for residents and visitors.

 

Types of traditional festivals

 

SAccording to the origin of the holiday differ two types of parties:

 

·  Religious Holidays: are those that began to take place as a result of a miracle or the appearance of a saint or virgin. They are most abundant in Spain.

 

In some localities the holidays are celebrated with a religious character but with the passage of time has been lost for example with the San Fermin.

 

·  No religious holidays are those that began to take place because of an action or event occurred in a place year after year. In some localities are held celebrations in honor of a typical product of the place.

 

There are also other types of non-religious holiday celebrations that calls are those that are newly created consolidated gradually.

 

Most of these holidays coincide with such battles won in a war, the independence of a country or the signing of a constitution.

 

The parties also can be divided depending on the magnitude of the event diferenciándose feasts international, national, regional and local levels.

 

Celebrations of tourist interest

 

This is an indication that given to those parties or events in a particular place and offer great interest from the point of view of tourism. Se dividen en: They are divided into:

·  Celebration of International Tourist Interest: Descent International Sella of Ribadesella (Asturias), the Easter or the Tomatina in Buñol (Valencia) are among the most prominent in Spain.
