Vaccine against human papilloma virus

The Cabinet has approved the decision to include in the immunization schedule vaccine against human papilloma virus. It will be applied to girls between 11 and 14 years.

 

All regional governments have an obligation to have implanted the administration of this vaccine by 2010. Some Communities as Asturias and Galicia have already announced that included in the immunization schedule of 2008.

 

It is believed that the human papilloma virus is causing 70% of cancers of cervix. This virus is a sexually transmitted infection that causes lesions that with the passage of time can become cancerous.
