The Cabinet has approved the decision to include in the immunization
schedule vaccine against human papilloma virus. It will be applied to girls
between 11 and 14 years.
All regional governments have an obligation to have implanted the
administration of this vaccine by 2010. Some Communities as Asturias and
Galicia have already announced that included in the immunization schedule of
2008.
It is believed that the human papilloma virus is causing 70% of
cancers of cervix. This virus is a sexually transmitted infection that
causes lesions that with the passage of time can become cancerous.
