Weather forecast

One of the main branches of meteorology is one that deals with predicting the weather to be in a certain place in the coming hours, days, weeks, months or years.

It is based on the measurement of certain parameters such as humidity and atmospheric pressure. It takes into account phenomena such as the mass of clouds that are observed in the images captured by satellites.

Scientific forecast

There have been many advances in the scientific study of weather forecasting. One of the main advances is related to communications, since the incorporation of technological means such as fax has allowed information reached many meteorological services at the same time.

The analysis requires several meteorological measurements of parameters such as wind and temperature on the Earth's surface and the upper atmosphere from different places. Hence the importance of the data are transferred from some other think tanks.

In meteorological measurements are made now will automatically through sophisticated means and thousands of weather stations spread over the planet.

Moreover, the images captured by satellites are received in all weather centers having the receiving devices required.

Once obtained data, the study meteorologists to predict their behavior according to their knowledge and experience of what usually happens, because there are many variables that influence the climate.

Prediction popular

Forecasting climate has always been subject to monitoring not only for scientists but also for the people in the street, especially for farmers and fishermen, whose activities are highly conditioned by the weather.

Therefore, since the man always has taken into account various aspects to know the weather as the color of clouds, the duration of phenomena such as fog, the behavior of the animals or their own physical ailments.

Calendar Zaragozano in Spain

This schedule is published since 1840, is an example of these predictions popular. In addition to a lot of other information, including the climate forecast for the whole year.

It is based on the observation time three days at the beginning of each season and in certain phenomena related to astronomy to predict the time of next year.

It comes from a religious practice called temporas, which consisted of three days fasting save at the beginning of each season. It came to believe that the time these days would be indicative of each month of this season or the following year, as in Zaragoza.

The cabañuelas in Spain

There are other known means of prediction popular time to predict the long term. They note the weather in August and do correspond every day with a month.

The first day will tell us the time August, the second day of September, and so on. From the day 13 interpretations differ, but some used these days to know the wind and fog of each month.

Remarks

Many other predictions are based on the observation of the animals, such as the presence of many insects flying ants can be seen as a sign of rain.
