Wine classes (Spain)

The types of wines differ mainly depending on the type of grape that is used in its production. They can come from one type of grape or the mixture of several.

 

Wines with Denomination

 

Some of the wines with Designation of Origin (D.O.) Spain's most important are:

 

·  Sire: it is a wine that comes from the area of southeastern Zamora coming to Valladolid. The most important are the reds but there are also white and pink. The grape is the most widely used ink Toro is trempanillo. His D.O. data de 1987.

·  Penedés: white wine produced from grapes Macabeo, Xarel.lo, Parellada, Subirat-parent and Chardonnay. The reds are made with Tempranillo, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Garnacha ink, Cariñena, Monastrell and Sausón. They come from the south of Barcelona and Tarragona. They obtained the D.O. en 1960.

 

·  Jumilla: Develops reds at its 80% but also pink and white. It is from the south of Jumilla in Albacete and Murcia. The reds come from Monastrell grapes, Garnacha ink Cancibel, Cabernet-sauvignon, Grenache, Merlot and Syrah. Su D.O. His D.O. es de 1966 . It is 1966.
