Working for disabled person - Introduction (Spain)

It is considered disabled anyone who has legally recognized a disability equal to or above 33%. The unemployment rates that supports this sector are higher than usual.

 

The social prejudices, the lack of information from employers about the work that these people can develop and the difficulty of access because of architectural barriers are some of the obstacles that have disabled to find employment.

 

To improve the situation, the government offers subsidies to companies that hire disabled workers on a regular basis. Recipients of these plans always to keep these employees on the payroll for a minimum period of three years.

 

Aid Programs

 

Now, since the Civil Service promoted a number of initiatives to mitigate the problems that have added to these workers seeking employment:

 

·  Creation of special employment centers, which provide jobs tailored to the capabilities of people with disabilities, so that in future they can more easily accessible to ordinary labor market.

 

·  Programs to promote self-employment of people with disabilities, subvencionándoles loans they need to build their businesses.

 

·  Book a percentage of seats in the notices of competitions and public tenders of not less than 5%.

 

·  The single payment of unemployment benefit to facilitate their incorporation into cooperatives, or companies as partners to undertake their own business.

 

·  Bonuses for businesses that hire persons with disabilities indefinitely in time contracts or distributed.

 

Certificate Handicap

 

It must be issued by the Administration. It requested the Ministry of Social Affairs of each Municipality. Among the documents are reports made by the physician, psychologist and social worker.

 

It is important to ask this certificate because it is necessary to qualify for various benefits, in addition to the work-related, such as, for example, discounts on transportation.

 

Associations aid for disabled

 

Currently, there are many associations that helps disabled exist. They are responsible for ensuring their rights, defend their interests, provide the necessary training and help them find jobs. Some of the most important partnerships are:

 

·  ONCE: National Organization for the Blind in Spain.

 

·  COFEMFE: Confederation Coordinadora Estatal de Physically Disabled of Spain.

 

·  CNSE: National Confederation of Deaf Spain.

 

·  CERMI: Spanish Committee of Representatives of People with Disabilities. The above and other cluster around this committee.

 

·  FEAPS: Spanish Confederation of Organizations for Persons with Intellectual Disability.

 

·  ASPACE: Spanish Confederation of Federations and Associations of Care for People with Cerebral Palsy and Allied.

 

·  FEDER: Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases.

 

·  FESD: Spanish Federation of Down Syndrome.

 

·  FESPAU: Spanish Federation of Associations of Parents Autistic.
